Azure OpenAI service was launched in 2021, incorporating enterprise-level access to OpenAI systems like GPT-3 with features focused on security, compliance, governance, and other business-related aspects.

Will Microsoft integrate the text generation capability of OpenAI ChatGPT in Microsoft Office products like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook?

ChatGPT, Learning Ability

ChatGPT is based on GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), an architecture of a transformer neural network. These are highly effective for Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. These transformers can handle long range dependencies in text.

So how it learns, has two steps learning: -

• Pre-training: This model is trained on enormous amounts of text data from the internet. In this phase, it learns about grammar, world facts, reasoning abilities and even some biased facts present in data. This results in a “base model” which can generate the text, but some tuning is missing.

• Fine Tuning: That missing tuning is taken care of in this phase. There are custom model data sets on which this base model is trained. These custom Models were developed by OpenAI. This enables the base model to do better comparisons and behave in the more desired manner. 

Here some of the prompts are coming from OpenAI playgrounds and the ChatGPT app, but all the data is taken in an anonymized manner, by filtering out the personalized identifiable information. 

But be noted, ChatGPT is not interactively learning from its users’ conversations in real time, as it doesn’t retain the user-specific data which is necessary for user privacy and data security.
